Montel gives Pharma PR headache
Montel Williams, talk show host and a spokesman for the Partnership for Prescription Access program, gave PhRMA a bit of a headache last Friday at an event in Savannah, Georgia. Asked by a high school student whether pharmaceutical companies would be discouraged to conduct research if their profits were restricted, Williams reportedly threw a bit of a fit, and promptly ended the event.
Obviously this is the last thing the PR folks over at PhRMA want to be dealing with right now. It seems a perfectly fair question Williams was asked, and even if you don’t agree you’d at least admit a person in his position should be more than capable of dealing with it. The question now becomes whether Williams should be fired by PhRMA for his behavior. Yes? No? Have your say in the comments.
